History is full of loose threads; forgotten stories and people. A town that boomed and vanished, a business that changed a community, a person whose name made it onto a street sign but never into the history books. Forgotten Threads is my effort to help reconnect our American history through local stories. I'm Beth Perdue. I grew up in Virginia and today I live in central florida. Most of my stories focus on Florida, a state with far more history than the postcards let on.
Everything I make is built on research. I work from primary sources wherever I can, and I tell you where my information comes from and how confident I am in it. If a story is ucncertain or disputed, I'll say so. I think you deserve to know the difference between what's documented and what's legend.
